Himachal Pradesh: Light snowfall is expected in the higher reaches of Lahaul-Spiti, Kangra and Chamba from tomorrow. Light snowfall conditions will continue in these areas till December 3. “The weather will remain largely dry in the rest of the state,” a Meteorological Department official said. The state has been experiencing a prolonged drought since the beginning of October. While October saw a rainfall deficit of minus 97 per cent, November received only 0.2 mm of rain, which is much less than the normal 19.7 mm of rain this month. “There is a deficit of about 99 per cent in rainfall this month,” he said. Only Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti have received some rain this month, the rest of the ten districts remained almost dry. The average minimum and maximum temperatures are normal at most places in the state at this time.
