Himachal: Justice Suryakant inaugurated the court complex in Amb, Una

Himachal Pradesh: Supreme Court Judge Justice Surya Kant today inaugurated the multi-storey Sub-Divisional Court Complex at Amb in Una district. The facility has been constructed at a cost of Rs 17.16 crore. Justice Surya Kant had also laid the foundation stone of the court complex in 2019 while he was the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court. The Amb court complex has six court rooms, two bar rooms and a library besides other facilities for bar association members and litigants. Speaking on the occasion, Justice Surya Kant said that the court complex is an important step towards the development of the judicial system in the region. Emphasising the need for more courts, he said that justice seekers should be treated humanely.

Lauding the judicial work culture of Himachal Pradesh, he said that it is the most dedicated among all the states in the country. The Supreme Court judge stressed the need to adopt digital technologies in the justice delivery system. He said that the proceedings of the Supreme Court have become completely digital, making online court sessions possible, eliminating the inconvenience of geographical distances and making justice easily accessible to all. Further, he said that digital proceedings also help the bar members of lower courts to understand and learn the working system better. Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Judge of Himachal Pradesh High Court welcomed the chief guest and spoke about the development work done in the sub-divisional courts during the last few years. High Court Judge and Administrative Judge of Una Civil and Sessions Division Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua and Una District and Sessions Judge Naresh Singh Thakur also expressed their views on the occasion.
