Himachal: Industries Minister inaugurates new facilities at Tatiana School

Himachal Pradesh: In a significant step towards strengthening educational infrastructure in the remote hills of Himachal Pradesh, Industries, Parliamentary Affairs and Labour & Employment Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan inaugurated four newly constructed classrooms at Government Senior Secondary School, Tatiyana, under the Shillai Assembly Constituency. The occasion was marked by a warm gathering of students, local residents, government officials and dignitaries who celebrated this development as a milestone for the regionâs educational progress.
Addressing the public, Minister Chauhan highlighted the unwavering commitment of the state government to transform the state into an education-driven, self-reliant model of development. He stated that special emphasis is being laid on the improvement of basic educational infrastructure, particularly in rural and far-flung areas, to ensure that every child has access to quality education in a conducive learning environment.
âTatiyana school is not just a buildingâit is a symbol of opportunity, aspiration, and progress for hundreds of children in the region. Its journey from a middle school to a senior secondary institution is a testament to our governmentâs resolve to bring real change to peopleâs lives,â Chauhan said.
Reflecting on the past, he recalled how inaccessible Tatiyana once was, with villagers having to walk long distances on foot due to the absence of roads. âToday, thanks to focused development and investment in connectivity, nearly every village in the Shillai Assembly constituency is connected by road,â he added, receiving applause from the audience.
Chauhan also addressed the economic challenges the state has faced due to natural calamities, which caused damages worth over Rs. 10,000 crore. Despite reduced financial support from the Centre, he reaffirmed the state governmentâs resolve to continue pushing forward on the path of progress. âWe are not just rebuildingâwe are reimagining Himachal Pradesh. Our vision is to become a self-sustaining, exemplary state where opportunities reach the last mile,â he emphasised.
A major highlight of the event was the collaboration between the corporate sector and the government. The minister lauded P&G India for its consistent contributions to the stateâs socio-economic development. Operating in Baddi for the last two decades, P&G has played a pivotal role not only in industrial growth but also in fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities with sincerity.
In collaboration with Round Table India, P&G India has actively supported the overall development of Tatiyana School by facilitating the addition of modern amenities and infrastructure. âP&Gâs efforts through its education-driven CSR programs have empowered Himachalâs youth and brought tangible transformation to government schools,â Chauhan noted.
The newly inaugurated classrooms are expected to benefit hundreds of students annually by providing them with a better, more engaging learning space. The minister also announced the opening of a bank branch in Tatiyana and sanctioned the construction of a protective shed over the school building to shield it from weather extremes.
Following the official programme, Minister Chauhan engaged directly with the local residents, listening to their concerns and assuring prompt redressal. His hands-on approach and accessibility were well received by the public.
