Himachal Pradesh: Education Minister Rohit Thakur on Sunday participated in the Shanta Yagna of local deity Dom Devta Khanta in Adevag village of Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai assembly constituency of Shimla district. He urged the youth to stay connected to their culture while moving forward in today’s world. The minister said that this historic event is being held after almost 56 years, in which four major deities of the area are participating. He said that Himachal Pradesh is known as Devbhoomi and its culture is very unique, which has given the state a distinct identity, which is rarely found anywhere else in the world. He said, “The fairs and festivals celebrated in the state are a reflection of the state’s vibrant culture. Such customs symbolize the state’s rich and divine traditions. Therefore, it is very important for everyone to protect and preserve the state’s cultural heritage.” He said that the unique Dev culture must be preserved for future generations. Our great culture teaches us mutual love, harmony, and brotherhood. In today’s scientific age, it is important to move forward with the world, but it is also essential to remain connected to our ancient and cultural roots.” Earlier, the minister bowed before the deity and received blessings.
