Himachal Pradesh: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri discussed Shimla ropeway project with members of Shanghai-based New Development Bank (NDB). A three-member NDB team from Shanghai met Agnihotri today and discussed various issues related to the financing of Shimla ropeway project. The Deputy Chief Minister assured the team that all the necessary formalities will be completed by the state government so that the bank can proceed with the loan negotiations with the Department of Economic Affairs as per the timeline set in the memorandum. Agnihotri said the project will go a long way in reducing traffic congestion in the city and reducing carbon footprint, paving the way for the mission of greener and cleaner Himachal. Apart from this, the ropeway will also be a faster mode of transport. The Rs 1734 crore ropeway project will have 13 boarding and de-boarding stations and will have a total length of 13.80 km.
