Himachal: Centre urged to release Rs 9,200 crore held with securities depository

Himachal Pradesh: Himachal Pradesh Joint Employees Federation has demanded the Central Government to release Rs 9,200 crore held by the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) for the employees of New Pension Scheme. The demand was raised in the executive meeting of the Federation held today under the chairmanship of its President Virendra Chauhan. During the meeting, Chauhan said that if this amount is transferred to the state government, it will help in paying the pending dues of the employees, which is more than Rs 10,000 crore. Besides, the demands include providing career advancement schemes for college and university teachers on the lines of UGC, restoring pension for employees excluded from Old Pension Scheme (OPS) – especially State Electricity Boards, Corporations and Zila Parishad members, filling up of vacant posts in all departments, boards and corporations.
