Himachal: Belgian tourist injured as motorcycle falls into Ravi

Himachal Pradesh: A Belgian tourist was injured on Saturday when his motorcycle fell into the Ravi river near Jiura bridge on the Kharamukh-Holi route in Chamba district. The injured tourist was admitted to Civil Hospital Bharmour, where doctors described his condition as stable. Police said a group of Belgian tourists had reached Bharmour on rented motorcycles. After spending the night in Bharmour, the group headed towards Holi the next morning. They parked their bikes near Jiura bridge when the two-wheeler of a member of the group overturned. In an attempt to save the vehicle, the tourist lost balance and fell into the Ravi river about 70 meters below. Fortunately, he managed to swim to the shore despite falling into the river. His friends acted immediately and started the rescue operation without any delay. The group members pulled him back to the main road with the help of a rescue team of police and fire personnel. Chamba Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav said the tourist is undergoing treatment and his condition is improving.
