Himachal Pradesh: Nurpur Police intercepted a car HP-88-7916 at Kandwal under Nurpur police station yesterday evening and seized 109.52 grams of Heroin (Chitta) from a couple travelling in it. Police arrested the car occupants and claimed that the seizure has led to the busting of an inter-state drug racket. The accused have been identified as Ravi Kumar and his wife Shilpa, residents of Jhajwan village in Fatehpur subdivision of Kangra district. Nurpur police have registered a case against the couple under sections 21,25,29 of the NDPS Act. SP Nurpur Ashok Ratan said that police had received information about Ravi Kumar’s involvement in inter-state drug smuggling. He said, “Police laid a trap to nab Ravi Kumar, who was going to his native place Amritsar with the banned substance from Amritsar yesterday evening and arrested him along with the seized heroin.”
