High tension line proved fatal, grandfather died while trying to save his grandson

Bulandshahr: A tragic accident occurred on Friday in the Khurja Nagar police station area of ​​the district. A 12-year-old boy was electrocuted while trying to retrieve a kite entangled in a high-tension power line in Mohalla Burj Usman. His 65-year-old grandfather, who came to rescue his grandson, was also electrocuted. The grandfather died on the spot, while the boy was seriously injured. The incident caused panic in the area.

According to reports, 12-year-old Ahad, a resident of Mohalla Burj Usman in Khurja Nagar, was trying to retrieve a kite entangled in a high-tension power line. Suddenly, he came into contact with live wires and began writhing in pain from the electric shock. Seeing the child electrocuted, his 65-year-old grandfather, Israr, immediately ran to rescue him, but he too was struck by the powerful current.

Israr died on the spot in the accident, while Ahad suffered severe burns. Bystanders immediately informed his family and the police. The injured child was rushed to the hospital and is undergoing treatment.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Khurja Nagar police station arrived at the scene. With the help of local residents, the police began relief operations. The police took possession of the deceased Israr’s body, completed the necessary procedures, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

The Khurja Nagar police station in-charge stated that one person died and a child was injured due to electrocution in Mohalla Burj Usman. The injured child has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The deceased’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination and further legal action is being taken in the case.

Following the accident, the entire neighborhood is in mourning. Family members are inconsolable. Locals reported that high-tension power lines pose a threat to people in many locations. They have demanded that the electricity department and administration review the safety measures for such power lines passing through populated areas to prevent such accidents in the future.

People have also appealed to children and ordinary citizens not to fly kites near high-tension power lines, and to refrain from attempting to remove a kite if it becomes entangled in the wires. Even the slightest carelessness can prove fatal.
