Heat wave will return in Odisha after April 13: IMD

Bhubaneswar: After a brief respite from the scorching heat due to rain under westerly winds, heat wave conditions are likely to return again as the IMD predicts a sudden rise in mercury levels from April 13.

Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said through a statement that after April 13, the day temperature is likely to increase by 3 to 4 degrees due to the effect of dry air from the west and north-west direction. Temperature till 12th April.

The weather agency said through a post on ‘X’ that some interior and western areas of the state are likely to record temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or more. The IMD said there will be no change in the maximum day temperature during the next three days. There will be no big change.

Meanwhile, temperatures at all weather stations in the state were recorded below 40 degrees Celsius. Paralakhemundi recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius, while Titilagarh came second with 37.5 and Malkangiri came third with 37.1 degrees Celsius. The day temperature in Paradeep was 37 degrees Celsius.
