Kangra. Spiritually Oriented Seva Mission Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari Branch Kangra in collaboration with Ripudaman Charitable Trust organized a free ENT camp at Gopal Bagh Ghurkadi Kangra 203 patients were treated by Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva ENT Head and Neck Surgery Max Hospital Group Delhi .
In this camp, two mute children were identified for cochlear implants. Each costs Rs 8.50 lakh. Patients from different parts of the state came for treatment at the free ENT camp, which is a monthly facility of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari branch, Kangra Pradesh.
In this camp, 107 audiometry tests were conducted by audiologists from CORD and Chandigarh. Two mute children, including 6-year-old Mayank from Ladbhadol, Mandi, were identified for cochlear implants. Over the next two months, more than 33 patients were identified for surgeries to be performed in the camps.
Free medicines were distributed among the patients during the camp. This program is a monthly feature of Vivekananda Center with the mission of service to God, humanity. Dr. Sachdeva said that cochlear implant is a boon for the deaf and mute. When this surgery is done in children in the initial days. Most of the children are not diagnosed or are diagnosed very late, so it can be diagnosed and corrected early with regular medical checkups.
