Haryana government’s new initiative, coaching fund available for civil services

The Haryana government has launched a new initiative, the “Chief Minister’s Youth Talent Promotion Scheme,” for youth from economically weaker sections (EWS) preparing for the civil services (UPSC, HPSC, and judicial services). Under this initiative, students who pass the preliminary examination (Prelims) will be provided financial assistance (coaching fund) ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹70,000 for coaching for the main examination (Mains). Key points of the scheme and the amount of assistance (as announced on April 8, 2026):
Eligibility: Assistance will be provided based on the family’s annual income:
Income up to ₹1 lakh: ₹70,000 assistance
Income up to ₹1.80 lakh: ₹60,000 assistance
Income from ₹1.80 lakh to ₹3 lakh: ₹50,000 assistance
Income from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh: ₹25,000 assistance
Exams: This scheme will be applicable for UPSC, HPSC (Haryana Public Service Commission), and Judicial Services examinations.
University Coaching: The government will introduce UPSC and HPSC coaching through evening classes in all government schools.
Other Main Coaching Initiatives:
For Children of Workers (Haryana Labour Welfare Board): If parents are registered workers and pass the preliminary exam, they can receive financial assistance of up to ₹1 lakh for coaching for the main exam.
For SC/OBC students: Free coaching and scholarships (₹4,000/month) are also available through the Dr. Ambedkar Excellence Centre.

What should people keep in mind?
Candidates must be permanent residents of Haryana.
This scheme is for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) volunteers.
The assistance amount will be provided after passing the preliminary exam, for preparation for the main exam.
