Haryana: Disaster management camp organized

Karnal: A one-day First Aid and Disaster Management Training Camp was organised at Dyal Singh College, Karnal under the joint aegis of Youth Red Cross, National Service Scheme (NSS), NCC Army Wing and NCC Air Wing. More than 100 students participated in the camp and learnt about handling emergency situations. Principal of Dyal Singh College, Dr Ashima Gakkhar highlighted the importance of first aid and disaster management. She emphasised that the primary purpose of first aid is to provide immediate help to people in distress. She said that even with limited resources, immediate first aid measures can be life saving. She informed that trained persons can make a significant contribution in distributing relief material, shifting affected persons to safer places and implementing pre-disaster preparedness strategies. District Red Cross Society Instructor Naresh Pal demonstrated essential first aid techniques. He focused on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and explained its important role in saving lives during cardiac emergencies. Additionally, he explained in detail about various safety measures and quick response techniques required during natural disasters.
Mock interviews conducted
Yamunanagar: Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhari conducted mock interviews for final year students. These interviews were conducted just like real interviews in which students had to face questions like group discussion, typing test, technical interview and oral ability. Acting Principal of the college Dr. Karuna said that our sole aim is to provide proper employment opportunity to everyone. Students can work on their weaknesses and improve themselves. Placement Cell coordinator Gaurav Bareja said that we are working hard to develop the right skills in the students.
NCC ‘C’ Certificate Exam
Ambala: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) ‘C’ Certificate Examination was held at Sanatan Dharma College, Ambala Cantonment under the guidance of Commandant Brigadier Vikas Rai Shandilya, Deputy Commander Colonel Anil Jhijheria, Colonel Anoop Rawat (Commanding Officer, 12 HR Battalion), Colonel Jagjot Singh (Commanding Officer, 15 HR Battalion) and Major Neelima Gaur (Administrative Officer, 1 HR Battalion). A total of 486 cadets appeared in the examination. The ‘C’ Certificate Examination is an important assessment for NCC cadets, which evaluates their knowledge, discipline and leadership skills. It is an important milestone for those aspiring to join the armed forces or take up leadership roles in many fields.
