Hanamkonda: Eatery serves chicken soup in a shocking mix

Hanamkonda: A night of partying with friends at a bar and restaurant in Naimanagar on Thursday turned into a harrowing experience for M Santosh, a resident of Srinagar Colony. Expecting vegetarian sour soup, Santosh was surprised when he got a plate of chicken sour soup instead. Confusion arose when Santosh, a pure vegetarian, asked about the ingredients of the soup in front of the camera. Initially, he claimed that all three were soya, but direct consultation with the chef revealed the truth: this had led to confusion and Santosh was served a plate that was not vegetarian. Santosh expressed deep disappointment and regretted the indifferent attitude of the restaurant management towards this serious error. “For a pure vegetarian like you, it was very impressive because of my bad behavior”, he shared, highlighting the distress caused by the incident. To add to his consternation, Santosh discovered that many of his restaurants cooked vegetarian and non-vegetarian products, raising concerns about cross-contamination among those who had dietary restrictions. Santosh prompted authorities to intervene and take strict action against such practices to protect the sentiments of vegetarians. With the hope of creating awareness and bringing about a change in the way restaurants handle vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations, Santosh turned to the social network to draw the attention of District Collector Sikta Patnaik to the issue. He said that he had presented the complaint to the concerned authorities on Friday.
