Union Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Zubin Irani on Sunday launched the Haj Suvidha App that will provide people going on the annual pilgrimage direct access to essential information and vital services like training modules, flight details and accommodation.
Irani inaugurated a two-day training program for trainers as part of preparations for Haj 2024 at Vigyan Bhawan here in the presence of Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla.
According to an official statement, more than 550 trainers from various states and union territories participated in the programme.
It said the objective of the trainers’ training program is to sensitize and educate the trainers who provide further training to Haj pilgrims to ensure that pilgrims have a gratifying experience and are aware of various aspects of the pilgrimage. Be.
As part of the government’s efforts to make Hajj a smoother and more comfortable experience, Irani launched Hajj Suvidha App for the benefit of all Hajj pilgrims.
The Haj Suvidha App has been developed by BISAG-N under the able guidance of the Union Minority Affairs Minister, and will prove to be a “game changer” in the pilgrimage experience, the statement said.
Leveraging digital and mobile technologies, the Haj Suvidha App will provide essential information and direct access to critical services such as training modules, flight details, accommodation, emergency helplines and health at the fingertips of pilgrims.
Pilgrims will be able to focus better on their spiritual journey and forget about worldly tasks like travelling, luggage and documents. The statement said that the app provides solutions to common problems faced by pilgrims during their journey and will prove to be a boon especially for those performing Haj for the first time in their life.
Irani also released Haj Guide-2024, which has been prepared to educate pilgrims on various aspects of the pilgrimage with special emphasis on the use of Haj Suvidha App.
The guide is published in 10 languages and will be issued to all Hajj pilgrims.
The Union Minister in his address described the wide range of efforts undertaken by the Government, including taking direct feedback from pilgrims, to make the Haj pilgrimage a transparent, equitable, cost-effective, safe and spiritually gratifying experience.
The increased enthusiasm and participation of pilgrims under the Ladies Without Mehram category is a testament to the government’s commitment towards making Haj inclusive and accessible, he said.
Irani said, the Haj Suvidha App will ensure better access to facilities by pilgrims and better administrative coordination and control with quick grievance redressal and emergency response.
He stressed the importance of training and called upon the trainers to put in their best efforts to train every Haj pilgrim to perform Haj in a safe, peaceful and comfortable manner.
To improve training, the number of trainers per pilgrim has been increased to 1:150 from the earlier ratio of 1:300. The statement said that this will go a long way in providing a complete Hajj experience for Indian pilgrims.
