Vijayawada: 800 Haj pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh who went to Mecca Saudi Arabia for Haj Pilgrimage-2024 will return to Vijayawada Embarkation Point at Vijayawada Airport at Gannavaram on July 10 and 11. The Haj pilgrims are currently at Madina Munawara and will arrive on July 10 by flight number SG-5237 at 4.20 pm and on July 11 by two other flights at 3 pm and 9.35 pm. In a press release on Tuesday, the Andhra Pradesh Haj Committee announced that Minister for Minority Welfare and Law & Justice N Md Farooq, Secretary of Minority Welfare Department K Harsh Vardhan and other officials will welcome the Haj pilgrims at Vijayawada Airport on July 10. Minister Farooq directed the officials to make all necessary arrangements at the airport for the convenience of the Haj pilgrims and facilitate them to proceed to their respective destinations/districts. The Minister also directed the officials to make necessary arrangements for overnight stay at Shah Zahoor Musafir Khana, Winch Pet, Vijayawada or one day before the onward journey. RTC buses will be available for essential transportation of Haj Pilgrims from Gannavaram to Vijayawada. He said that the Haj Committee of India has issued Circular No. 1 dated July 3, 2024, informing that the notification for Haj 2025 will be issued in the last week of July or first week of August 2024. Interested Indian Haj Pilgrims who wish to proceed for the forthcoming Haj 2025 through Haj Committee of India are advised to keep their machine-readable international passports ready which are valid up to January 15, 2026, so that they can apply as soon as the Haj is announced by the Haj Committee of India.
