Gurdwara Management Committee Chairman’s car attacked
Punjab. In Tarn Taran, Punjab, a mob attacked the car of the Chairman of Gurdwara Management Committee, waving sticks and swords, demanding the “removal” of the poster of Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Police gave this information on Monday. Police said that during this period a policeman and a member of the Gurudwara management task force were injured. A few days ago, a video of removal of a tent with Bhindranwale’s poster went viral on social media, after which this incident took place in Pahuwind village of Tarn Taran. Police said that on January 26, the gurudwara management had asked a group of volunteers to shift the tents belonging to the shoemakers.
This was hampering the movement of devotees. According to the police, the volunteers objected to this and the entire incident was captured on camera. After watching the video clip, many Sikh radicals reached the Gurudwara complex on Sunday and demanded action against the management. The group attacked and vandalized the car of Gurdwara Management Committee Chairman Colonel Harsimran Singh (retd). The police had to struggle a lot to take the Chairman of the Gurdwara Management Committee to a safe place. Singh later said that he had great respect for Bhindranwale and had objected to the posters being placed near the shoes of devotees. Tarn Taran Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Preet Inder Singh said the matter has been resolved amicably. He said, “Now there is no tension in and around the Gurudwara.
