Guest teachers demanded regular jobs, submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Punjab

Punjab: A delegation of guest teachers working in various colleges has sent a demand letter to Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria through former Minister of State Vijay Sampla and former Cabinet Minister Tikshan Sood. These teachers have demanded that appropriate action be taken against the current AAP government. He alleged that AAP leaders had promised before the assembly elections that guest teachers would be appointed on priority basis after the formation of the government, but after coming to power, this government has failed to fulfill its promises.

Sampla assured the delegation that he would try to solve their problems. He said that the previous Congress government of Punjab had allowed the recruitment of teachers in 1,158 government colleges by taking a simple written examination. At that time, other political parties including AAP had alleged rigging, on which the High Court had stopped the process, but now despite the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for Panchayat elections, permanent recruitment is being justified by ignoring guest teachers. He said that the government should resolve the demands of guest teachers soon and secure their future.
