Anantapur: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday caught Gudibanda Tehsildar Sridhar red-handed while accepting a bribe from a farmer in Sathyabari district.
According to ACB sources, Sheikh Saddam Hussain, a resident of Gudibanda Mandal, had applied for the mutation of his four-acre agricultural land. The Tehsildar allegedly demanded ₹20,000 to process the request.
The complainant contacted ACB officials, following which a trap was laid. ACB officials, led by Inspector Hameed Khan, caught the officer accepting the bribe.
The accused has been taken into custody and produced before the Kurnool ACB court. Further investigation is underway.
