Government working under the pressure of liquor mafia: Randhir

Shimla | Chief Spokesperson of BJP and MLA from Shri Nayanadevi Randhir Sharma has alleged that the government is working under the pressure of the liquor mafia, therefore the campaign against drugs is a gimmick. He alleged that the contractors were not paying the fees under the Excise Policy, which should be investigated. In a statement issued here, Randhir Sharma alleged that the contractors have taken new tenders in the name of their relatives without paying the money for the old tenders. He said that fake passes have been sent by the contractors at the time of audit at many places, when complaints are made in such cases, then the truth comes to the fore. It is clear from this that the liquor mafia is working under the protection of the government.
Randhir Sharma said that after the month of March, liquor vends are opening at many new places in Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, liquor contracts are being opened in panchayats without NOC. People and Mahila Mandals are strongly opposing these contracts at many places. He said that NOC is no longer required in Panchayats. Under the guise of these unfair rules, liquor contractors have started opening liquor vends and premises at various places, due to which the atmosphere of the state is deteriorating. He said that the BJP is with the government in any campaign against drugs, but this campaign has become just a gimmick.
Randhir Sharma said that the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane has not even been inaugurated yet, but a large number of liquor vends have opened there. He said that the government should tell under which rules these contracts are open. He demanded the government to investigate all the contracts and strictly implement the excise policy. He alleged that many liquor contractors were cheating the government.
