Government buses are getting into accidents due to excessive workload on drivers – Former AIADMK Minister

Tamil Nadu: Former AIADMK minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar said that there is a shortage of drivers and conductors in the transport sector; government buses are often involved in accidents due to the heavy workload of drivers.
The AIADMK’s assembly election campaign began in Karur on Wednesday. Former minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar, Organizing Secretary M. Chinnaswamy, party executives S. Thiruvika, Mallika Subbarayan, Kannadasan, and others offered prayers at the Pattalamman Temple in Kodangipatti, Karur. Later, they distributed pamphlets to the people of the area detailing projects implemented during the AIADMK regime.
Later, speaking from the election campaign van, M.R. Vijayabhaskar said,
Due to the steps taken by the AIADMK government, construction of an elevated bridge over the Trichy National Highway in Kodangipatti has now begun. But who is saying we brought this bridge? Two years ago, Communist Party member Soundararajan said that 6,000 buses in the transport sector were not running. Now, he says that 2,000 more buses are not running. There are no drivers or conductors to operate the existing buses.
Accidents like the Tirupathur accident occur frequently because even trained drivers are employed for long periods. The DMK alliance parties do not even open their mouths about this. They said that the AIADMK rule was the golden age of the transport sector. Then they campaigned throughout Kodangipatti.
