Google has introduced a new personalized feature called “AI inbox” for Gmail, which is designed to provide a customized and personalized summary of your tasks and keep you up to date with important information.
Gmail has also unveiled AI overviews in search and a Grammarly-like “Proofread” feature. The tech giant has also added several AI features that were ‘Suggested to-dos, which display summaries of top priority emails that need attention and action, and the other is ‘Topics to catch up on, which will inform you about important information, for example, your tech shirt has been delivered, mostly updating on purchases. These features are in two different categories, such as “finance” and “purchases”.
The Google AI inbox will be tested with trusted testers before making it widely available for public use.
Google says all of Gmail’s AI features are optional, that it doesn’t use personal content to train its foundational models, and assures that it processes personal data in a strictly isolated environment.
Though these new features are launching only for selected users, Google confirmed that Gmail’s “Help Me Write,” AI Overviews for threaded emails, and “Suggested Replies” will be available for all users. These features were previously only offered to paid subscribers.
