Goods train derails near Kamalang station

Dhenkanal: Goods train derailed. It is reported that a goods train derailed near Kamlang station of Dhenkanal district of East Coast Railway. This accident happened at Bhagamunda near Kamlang station of the new railway line of Duburi Bushap. Now the movement of trains on this line has been stopped.

The Railway Department reached the spot and started rescue operations on war footing. It seems that there is no major damage in the accident. It is noteworthy that 6 coaches including the engine of the goods train had run away from the railway track near Kamalang station. The goods train derailed when it was going from Duburi to Talcher via Bubhap. However, it has been told that no major damage has been caused due to the collapse of this line. However, how the train derailed is still not clear.

After the accident, the operation of trains on this new railway line has been stopped for several hours. However, the newly constructed Duburi Bubhap new rail line from Talcher to Paradip is operational for the last six months to commercially transport coal. Only goods trains started running on this railway line connecting Duburi at Talcher Bubhap via Kamakshanagar, Bhubaneswar. But after this accident, the movement of trains on this offline line has completely stopped.

Earlier on the 10th, the train had derailed at Nampally station in Hyderabad. 3 coaches of Charminar Express derailed. 5 passengers were injured in this accident. The accident happened when Nampally was the last station of the train. However, South Central Railway said that there was no major loss.
