Panaji: All seven opposition MLAs from Goa will meet on Monday to chalk out a strategy to question the BJP government during next month’s assembly session. The assembly will hold six sessions from February 2 to 9. Opposition leader Yuri Alemao said on Sunday that opposition MLAs would meet on Monday night to discuss the strategy for the assembly session. Before that there will also be a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party. Speaking about convening the assembly session in just six days in the first half of 2024, Yuri Alemao said that the BJP government is very nervous of facing the opposition. “It is clear and obvious that the BJP government led by Prime Minister Pramod Sawant has completely failed to fulfill its commitments. The government could implement only 34 percent of the budget announcements for 2022-23. The performance will be worse this year, as the government has been able to start the process of only 10.51 percent of the budget announcements for 2023-24. This data was revealed by the Department of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation”, Alemao explained. We will also demand strict action against those officials who give incomplete, incorrect and misleading answers to the Legislative Assembly questions”, Alemao said. The opposition is formed by three MLAs from Congress, two MLAs from AAP and one MLA from Goa Forward Party and one MLA from Partido Revolucionario Goans.
