Giant elephant created havoc, villagers climbed on roof to save their lives

Korba. Now elephants have started entering residential areas in the district. For the second time, an elephant entered a house in Parla village of Katghora forest division. Around 9 o’clock in the night, Rajkumar Goswami, who lives in the village, was resting with his family. Meanwhile, a giant elephant came into the courtyard of the house. To save their lives the family members climbed onto the roof of the house. On receiving information about this, the forest staff reached the spot and saved the lives of the villagers.

According to the landlord Rajkumar Goswami, he also has a house adjacent to the forest near the village, where he lives with his family. His wife and a daughter live together. Rajkumar told that after having dinner at around 8 pm on Friday night, everyone went to the room to sleep. After some time, everyone was shocked to hear the roar of the elephant. The prince and his family looked through the window towards Badi and saw a huge elephant roaming in Badi.

After this, the prince, his wife and daughter somehow climbed the ladder to the top of the tiled house to save their lives and were keeping an eye on every movement of the elephant. Meanwhile, when the villagers came to know about the arrival of the elephant in the village, they immediately informed the forest department. As soon as information about the incident was received, the Forest Department team reached the spot with its force and rescued the elephant and chased it towards the forest.
