Gaza devastated by Israeli attacks is in need of food, UN condemned

Geneva: Israel’s attack on Gaza is not stopping. In this series, Israel has completely destroyed the food system in Gaza, due to which people there are now on the verge of dying of hunger. This move of Israel has been criticized by the United Nations. The UN has urged to stop the ongoing starvation in Gaza. According to the report of news agency Xinhua, at the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Thursday, Special Envoy Michael Fakhri said that 15 percent of Gaza’s fishing areas have been destroyed in the Israeli bombardment.
At the same time, an expert said that Israel has launched a ‘starvation campaign’ against Palestinians living in Gaza. Under this campaign, Israel is continuously targeting the fishing sector of Gaza. He said that Israel has closed all sea routes from October 7, 2023. He said, “Israeli troops also destroyed all the ports of Gaza and all the fishing grounds. Now only two boats out of 40 are left safe in Rafah. Israel has destroyed more than 75 percent of the fishing areas in Khan Yunis. Has destroyed.”
Fakhri said the destruction of fishing livelihoods in the enclave has undermined the right to food for people in Gaza and pushed them into hunger and starvation. The United Nations had condemned the attack by Israeli soldiers on Tuesday. In fact, on February 29, soldiers had attacked Palestinians who had gathered to collect flour in the south-west of Gaza. 112 people were killed in this attack. At the same time, 760 were badly injured.
