Rajnandgaon. Rivers and streams are in spate due to record-breaking rains in Sawan. After about 15 years, it is raining heavily in Sawan. The series of downpours continues as soon as Sawan begins. The situation of Shivnath has become dangerous in terms of water.
Due to the tributary rivers of the district, the flow of Shivnath is increasing instead of decreasing these days. Another reason is that water is being released continuously from Mongra reservoir. On Saturday, 4 thousand cusecs of water is being released. This is the reason why the speed of Shivnath is not decreasing. Shivnath river is in spate for a fortnight. Due to the fast flow, the river has taken a terrible form. Here, monsoon has taken the form of downpour in the district. It is being told that the Meteorological Department has predicted more torrential rains in the coming one or two days. The big dams and barrages of Rajnandgaon district are completely filled. 500 cusecs of water is being released from Khatutola and Sukhanala barrages. All the barrages were facing the crisis of drought in the month of Ashadh. Now the situation has changed.
By looking at the showers, it can be guessed that this year the monsoon is completely kind in Sawan. Due to the water being released from the barrages, the speed of Shivnath is very fast. Being a life-giving river, the water of Shivnath is being released continuously. Due to continuous rain in the entire district, the situation is now moving towards becoming uncontrollable. That is, if the rain does not stop soon, the crops will also be ruined. Farmers are having to think due to the possibility of excessive rain.
