Kondgaon. The mastermind of ganja smuggling has absconded in Chhattisgarh. Kondagaon police on Monday caught two smugglers from Uttar Pradesh who were coming to Raipur with ganja from Orissa. Police have recovered ganja worth Rs 11 lakh from smugglers. Let us tell you that the police is continuously taking action to curb illegal drugs. In this series, the police received information from the informer that illegal substance was being transported in a truck number CG04 JC 9732 going from Orissa Jagdalpur towards Raipur.
Kondagaon police, taking action on information, placed barricades on NH 30 and searched the truck, in which 22 packets of ganja were recovered. Police have seized one quintal, 10 kg ganja worth Rs 11 lakh and a truck worth Rs 7 lakh in a truck from both the smugglers and have sent the accused to jail on judicial remand under Section 20.
During police interrogation, the accused told that gym operator Subrata Rai, resident of Faras village, had met them two months ago and had asked both of them to drive a ballast vehicle from Jagdalpur to Raipur, in which they had promised to supply ganja. The accused said that we got ready due to greed. He used to give ₹ 20 thousand to both the accused for every trip. He also used to deliver ganja to Raipur, Dhamtari and other places. The arrested ganja smugglers gave their names – Satish Chandra Prajapati, father Prem Pal Prajapati, age 26 years, resident of Kotra, District Hathras, Uttar Pradesh and the name of the second accused was Shubham Singh Patel, father Gaya Prasad Patel, age 26 years, resident Naved, Said to be a resident of district Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh.
