Ganja worth lakhs smuggled in bike, 2 smugglers arrested

Tumgaon. Tumgaon police has arrested two accused who were smuggling ganja in huge quantities. On February 9, on the information of an informer, two youths coming from Jhalaap on motorcycle number CG 06 GL 9166 were stopped near Pirda Mod. During police interrogation, they told their names as Ajay Kumar Sahu, father Kunjram Sahu, age 24 years, resident of village Jangula Khariyar Road, Orissa and Karan Yadav, father Phaguvaram Yadav, age 24 years, resident of village Jenjaragundipali Khadiar Road, Orissa. During the formal proceedings in front of the witnesses, during the search, 9 packets of ganja weighing 09 kg 426 grams were recovered in the bag kept with the accused.

Ganja and one motorcycle used for transportation were seized. Action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 23/2024 section 20(b) NDPS Act. Both the accused were produced in the court and sent to jail on remand. Sauni Nilambar Singh Netam, head constable Jai Prakash Kannauje, constable Gulochan Verma, Ghanshyam Nirala, Kirtan Sinha, Harish Sahu, posted at police station Tumgaon, had an important contribution in the proceedings. The value of the seized ganja was estimated at Rs 1 lakh 88 thousand 520.
