Gangsters freed the robbery accused by attacking the police convoy in a filmy style

Bengaluru: Just like an action movie, a robbery accused was freed by his accomplices in Gadag district of Karnataka. The miscreants attacked the police convoy in the wee hours of Saturday and escaped with their accomplice. Police said that near the Gadag railway bridge in Koppal district, the gang members attacked the Gangavathi police convoy and escaped with the accused Amjad Ali Irani. Gangavathi city police were looking for Irani in a robbery case.

Superintendent of Police B.S. Nemagowda said on Saturday after meeting the injured policemen in the hospital that last night the police team was taking Irani to Gangavathi police station after arresting him. On the way, his accomplices attacked the police team and managed to escape with the accused. Police will take action against those involved in the attack. It is still being confirmed how many attackers were there. In the incident, the window of the police car was broken and the door was also damaged. It is not yet clear which gang carried out the attack. SP Nemagowda said, “We know how to create fear of law in their minds. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.” Investigation is on to nab the gang.
