Haridwar : After torrential rains, the water level of the Ganga reached near the warning mark. The water level of Ganga at Bhimgoda Barrage went up to the mark of 292.20 meters by 1 pm. While the warning mark is 293 meters and the danger mark is 294 meters. Ganga remained .80 meters below the warning mark till one o’clock. However, later gradually the water level of the Ganga started decreasing.
Harish Kumar, JE of the UP Irrigation Department, told that the water level of Ganga at Bhimgoda barrage had reached close to the warning mark after the water was released from Pashulok Barrage. But after one o’clock, the water level of Ganga started decreasing gradually.
Instructed to stay away from Ganga and Solani river
In view of the rainy season, six teams of Kotwali police went to the villages situated around the Ganges and Solani rivers and informed the people about the danger of possible flood disaster. The police have also instructed the villagers to stay away from the rivers for the next few days for the safety of life and property.
It is raining continuously in the area, but the water level of Ganga and Solani river is still far below the danger mark. On the other hand, six teams of Laksar police went to the villages situated around the Ganges and Solani rivers and talked to the people.
