Gang rape in lodge, 2 acquaintances of victim arrested

Mahasamund. Police have arrested two accused of gang rape of a girl in a lodge in Basna Nagar. While one accused is absconding. The victim had lodged a complaint in the Basna police station on May 15, 5 months after the incident. After which the police traced the accused and arrested them. However, one accused in this case is still out of the custody of the police. Police claim that the accused will be arrested soon.

Police station in-charge Shashank Puranic told that on December 28, 2023, between 2 pm to 5 pm, the accused Laxmidhar Sahu, resident of Chandan police station Rajadewari district Balodabazar, Pritam Nayak resident of Nithora police station Saliha district Balodabazar and another of his associates lured the victim and committed suicide. After settling together, they brought Gauri Lodge. Where the three accused forcibly had physical relations with the victim and also threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

On the complaint of the case, the police registered a case against the three accused under section 376 D, 506 of the Indian Penal Code, formed a team to arrest them and after investigation, detained the accused Laxmidhar and Pritam Nayak and interrogated them. During interrogation, the accused confessed to their crime. Confessed. Police have arrested both the accused and sent them to jail in judicial custody.
