Banswara. In Kushalgarh of Banswara, police have exposed a gang that was handing out fake notes on the pretext of doubling the money. The accused used to take Rs 1.5 lakh from customers and promise to convert it into Rs 2 crore. Police have recovered fake notes worth about Rs 2 crore 90 lakh from the house of the accused.Kushalgarh police station said that Abhi Kumar, resident of Vatva, Ahmedabad, has lodged the report. It was told that the accused take real money in the dark of night and then do tantra mantra to double it by pulling down the curtain. After this they drop the fake notes and hand over the fake notes to others.
Police have arrested the accused Wahid Maharaj (55) alias Abdul Wahid in the case.Kushalgarh DSP Roop Singh said that accused Wahid Maharaj told that his friend Harish Bairagi, living in Balod, Madhya Pradesh, sends him customers. Wahid used to take the fake notes to the house of his acquaintance Bharat and Neeru Katara, where a special room was made. Customers used to call there at night. Then they would take real money from the customer and keep the room dimly lit. After this, they would hide behind the curtain and drop fake notes. They would make the customers believe that the fake notes were genuine and then threaten them and snatch away the genuine notes.
