Four workers were injured in a fire mishap at a factory of a steel manufacturing company in Jharkhand’s Giridih district on Monday morning.
Though repeated calls on the official and personal number of Giridih deputy commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra failed to get response, superintendent of police Giridih Amit Renu confirmed the incident.
“The incident happened on Monday morning. For details you can contact the local police station officials who are monitoring the situation,” said Amit Renu.
Giridih Muffasil police station officer-in-charge Kamlesh Paswan said four workers in the factory sustained burn injuries.
“While one injured person has been referred to the burn hospital at Bokaro remaining three workers are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Giridih itself. The factory inspector Giridih has been apprised of the incident and will be carrying out a detailed investigation into the exact cause of the incident.
“Things can be ascertained only after a probe by the factory inspector. The factory management has agreed to bear the treatment expense of the injured workers,” said Paswan.
Sources in Giridih informed that the mishap took place in Satyam factory of Shivam Steel Company at around 10.30am on Monday.
“Due to a short circuit fire erupted in a vehicle carrying iron ladle at Ajidih-Udanabad under Mufassil police station. Overa dozen labourers were carrying iron ladle when the ladlecar caught fire. Four workers were injured. Bablu Kumar, a labourer from Bihar has been critically injured in the mishap,” said a source.
Officials at the factory rushed the injured workers to the Vishwanath Nursing Home from where Bablu Kumar from Bihar was referred to a hospital in Bokaro.
