Srinagar (IANS) | An infiltration bid was foiled and four infiltrators were killed in a joint operation by police and army in Machhal sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Giving this information on Friday, the army said that the operation is going on. In a joint operation launched by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, four terrorists were neutralized by alert troops along the LoC in Machhal sector of Kupwara, foiling an infiltration bid, the army said. Weapons etc. were recovered from them.
In less than a month, the second infiltration attempt has been foiled. On June 16, five foreign terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Jamagund area of the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
