Former secretary of Kalapathar PACS LTD Jagdish Ratha convicted in vigilance corruption case

Subarnapur: Jagdish Ratha, the former Secretary of Kalapathar PACS Ltd. under Ulunda Block of Subarnapur district has been convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balangir.

The court has sentenced Ratha to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of four years. Besides, a fine of Rs 30,000 also has been imposed on him.

Ratha was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance vide Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No 14/ 18.06.2020 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(c) PC Act 1988/409 IPC, for misappropriation of Govt. money to the tune of Rs 5, 28, 054/- by manipulating official records and showing less closing balance in the Day Book during 2014 -16.

Further, the convict was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Jagdish Ratha from service following his conviction.
