Raipur. Former Advocate General Satish Chandra Verma’s anticipatory bail plea will be heard in the Chhattisgarh High Court today in a single bench of Justice Ravindra Agarwal. The EOW has registered a case against Verma on the much-discussed Naan scam. In the case, Verma had earlier filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Raipur ADJ court, after which he has sought refuge in the High Court.
According to the information, the Chhattisgarh State Economic Offences Investigation Bureau (EOW) has registered a crime against Dr. Alok Shukla, Anil Tuteja, Satish Chandra Verma and others under sections 7, 7A, 8, and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 2018 and sections 182, 211, 193, 195-A, 166-A, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the FIR filed by EOW, former IAS Dr. Alok Shukla and Anil Tuteja took advantage of the then Advocate General Satish Chandra Verma by misusing their position. Both the officers had inspired the then Advocate General Verma to perform public duty in a wrong manner.
