Bhubaneswar (IANS) | Five people of a family, including two children, died in a tragic road accident in Odisha’s Balangir district. The police gave this information on Wednesday. According to the police, the accident happened on Sambalpur-Balangir National Highway-26 near Chuinbancha crossing late on Tuesday night. Five people died on the spot, while two are seriously injured. He has been admitted to Burla Medical College.
Atmaj Nayak of Ramjipada in Balangir was returning home in a car along with six other members of his family after attending a marriage function in Agalpur area of the district.
On the way, his car went out of control and rammed into a truck parked on the roadside.
The deceased have been identified as Atmaj Nayak (25), his sister Ipsita Sai (27), his daughter Riya (6), Atmaj’s uncle Diptiranjan Sai (35) and Sai’s daughter Anvi (6).
After getting the information, the Balangir police reached the accident spot and took the dead bodies into custody and sent them for postmortem.
Nayak’s mother Aarti (47) and Diptiranjan Sai’s wife Rasmita (29) were seriously injured in the accident. He is undergoing treatment at Vimsar in Burla.
