Ghaziabad (IANS) | A sudden fire broke out in a house in Ghaziabad’s Loni border area on Monday. This house also served as a tent house. The fire on the ground floor reached the first floor. After which mother-daughter died in the accident and 9 people were rescued by breaking the wall. The three-storey house had a tent house below. First of all it caught fire. Within minutes the fire reached the first floor. The whole family was sleeping when the fire broke out.
The accident took place in Lal Bagh Colony of Loni Border Police Station area. Here tent businessman Satish has a tent house on the ground floor. There is a house on the 3rd floor above it.
A fire broke out in the tent house built on the ground floor at around 5.30 am on Monday. When the fire reached the first and second floor, then the family members woke up. But by then the fire had spread. When the family looked for an exit, the exit gate of the house was in flames. The windows were also engulfed in fire, so there was no way to jump from there either.
When the house was searched, both the women were found unconscious. The people around immediately informed the police and fire brigade. 3 fire engines reached from Tronica City and Sahibabad.
Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rahul Pal said, the fire station was informed about the fire at 6.52 am on Monday morning. There were 8 people in the house above the tent house, who were rescued by the fire fighters by breaking the side wall. When firefighters searched the house, they found one woman each in an unconscious condition on the first and second floors. One was Satish’s sister Mamta (42) and the other mother Bharato Devi (74). Both were immediately taken to the nearest hospital. There the doctors declared him dead. Mamta’s body was moderately burnt. In such a situation, it is estimated that both died due to suffocation in the smoke of the fire.
The CFO said that from the preliminary investigation it seems that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the tent house. Mattresses and other items were kept in the tent house. This caused the fire to spread rapidly. No one was present on the ground floor. In such a situation, the family came to know about the fire only when the heat and flames reached the first floor. In such a situation, the way out was also closed.
