Chandigarh: The District Crime Cell of UT Police has arrested a 42-year-old woman with 9.96 grams of heroin. A team patrolling in Mani Majra caught the suspect Asha Rani, a native of Uttarakhand.

Chandigarh: An unknown person snatched a mobile phone from a woman. The incident is said to have taken place near the railway light point. A case has been registered.
Claimed himself to be a policeman in fraud of Rs 72 thousand
Chandigarh: An unknown fraudster duped a person resident of Sector 7 of Rs 72,000. Complainant Narsher Singh said that someone calling himself a policeman called him and claimed that his son had been caught in a kidnapping case along with one of his friends. The caller asked the complainant to send money if he wanted to settle the matter. The complainant, not realizing that he was being defrauded, transferred Rs 72,000 to the account given to him. A case has been registered in the cyber crime police station.

Chandigarh: An unidentified person stole Rs 1.70 lakh and a bag containing documents from a car parked near the community center in Bapu Dham Colony, Sector 26. Police have registered a case on the complaint of Ram Shankar, resident of Mauli Jagran.
CLTA tournament from 20th May
Chandigarh: Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association is organizing the CLTA-AITA National Ranking Tennis Championship for Men (prize money Rs 1 lakh) from May 20 to May 24. The qualifying matches will be played on May 18 and May 19 at CLTA Tennis Stadium, Sector 10. Apart from Chandigarh, players from states like Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka will participate in the tournament. Sixty-four players have registered for the qualifying round.
