Rajnandgaon. The incident of theft took place in broad daylight on July 1 from the jewelery shop located in the city’s Halwai Line. The female accused committed the theft by cheating the shopkeeper on the pretext of buying jewellery. After receiving the complaint, the Kotwali police succeeded in arresting the female accused of theft from Bhilai on Sunday.
The victim Radhika Soni reached the police station and lodged a report that she has a jewelery shop in the confectionary line of Rajnandgaon city. On July 1, at around 11 am, an unknown woman escaped from the scooty by cheating on the pretext of buying jewellery, stealing gold nose rings and silver bangles of children. In view of the seriousness of the matter, under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Rajnandgaon, a team was formed under the leadership of Kotwali police station in-charge Eman Sahu and the entire matter was being investigated. During this, on checking the CCTV footage, the accused woman was seen going towards Durg Bhilai. After this the police team reached Bhilai and laid siege near Khursipar and arrested the accused Akula Meena. Police have seized gold and silver jewelery worth 31 thousand stolen from the possession of the woman and the scooty used in the incident.
On the pretext of taking gold and silver jewellery, the accused woman fled from the scooty with gold and silver jewelery worth about Rs 31,000. Police has arrested the accused woman from Durg. In a cunning way, the woman had executed the whole incident, but she did not work in front of the police. Police has registered a case against the woman under various sections and sent her to jail on judicial remand.
