Himachal Pradesh: The court of Fazilka Sessions Judge Ajit Pal Singh has sentenced four people to life imprisonment for the murder of a shopkeeper in 2022. Sukhchain Singh, Baljinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh alias Kamal and Happy Singh allegedly went to Shinda Singh’s meat shop on the evening of April 17, 2022. They asked for chicken and eggs. Shinda Singh, who was closing his shop at the time, refused to give them the goods.
Enraged, they attacked Shinda Singh and his companions Paramjit Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Saroj Rani with sharp-edged weapons. Paramjit Singh was seriously injured and was referred to the Medical College in Faridkot, where he died. The Sadar police had registered an FIR against the accused on April 17, 2022 under sections 302, 323, 324, 148, 149 and 120-B of the IPC. The trial lasted for more than three years, and now the court has given its verdict.
