mumbai Mumbai: Fawad Khan is all set to make a comeback to Bollywood after a gap of eight years. He will star opposite Vaani Kapoor in an upcoming romantic comedy directed by Aarti Bagri. The film will be shot entirely in the UK. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who won hearts with his Bollywood debut in Khoobsurat, received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his role. Fawad Khan received critical acclaim for his performance in the family drama Kapoor & Sons (2016), which also earned him a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Despite this, his career in Bollywood came to a halt after the 2016 film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ due to the stress following the Uri attacks. Now, after a gap of eight years, Fawad Khan is all set to make a comeback to Bollywood. Reportedly he is set to star opposite Vaani Kapoor in an upcoming entertainment project, which marks his much-awaited comeback to the industry. , This Hindi-language film is an international project which is set to be shot entirely in the UK. According to DNA, “Fawad Khan has a huge international appeal due to his popularity among South Asians across the world. He has also been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The details of the project are being kept under wraps and everyone is tight-lipped about it. The makers will announce the project just before its filming schedule begins in the UK.” It further adds, “Vaani Kapoor has been a part of several big films and was the perfect choice for this project as she has avoided exposing herself too much. The makers wanted a very fresh casting in which Fawad falls in love with a beautiful Indian girl and Vaani fit the bill.” The romantic comedy is the story of two individuals dealing with personal challenges, helping each other as Fawad Khan is making a comeback to Bollywood after 8 years, eventually finding love as a natural outcome of their dynamic bond. The project, which begins filming in September this year and wraps up by November, is Eastwood Studios’ first international collaboration. This comes after the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition seeking a ban on collaboration between Indian entities and Pakistani artistes, including actors, singers, composers, lyricists and technicians, in 2023. Justices Sunil B Shukre and Firdaus P Pooniwala termed the petition as regressive and prejudicial to promoting cultural harmony, unity and peace and said it lacked merit.
