Father moved court seeking chargesheet in daughter’s murder case

Hubli: Niranjan Hiremath, father of Neha Hiremath who was brutally murdered by her friend on the college campus, has approached the Hubli 1st additional and 3rd JMFC court seeking a copy of the chargesheet filed by the CID. Months after the murder, the state government had handed over the probe to the CID. The team has completed its investigation and the chargesheet has been submitted to the court. “Yesterday, the investigation team submitted the chargesheet. Since there is no provision for providing us with a copy by the CID, I have appealed to the court to provide a copy of the chargesheet, details of the investigation and their submissions,” Niranjan told. The CID has filed a 483-page chargesheet. Accordingly, Hiremath has filed an application in the JMFC court seeking hearing of the case. “We were expecting to get the copy and details today but could not. Maybe I will get the copy tomorrow,” he said. He said he was not aware of the details of the chargesheet. He said, “The Chief Minister has promised a fair trial and investigation and said that the culprit will not go unpunished. We need to study the chargesheet carefully and then plan our future course of action.”
