Raigarh. A middle-aged villager was brutally murdered over a land dispute in village Keshla of Lalunga police station area. The police solved the murder mystery within 48 hours and arrested the father-son and sent them on judicial remand. This action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mr. Divyang Patel and Sub-Divisional Officer (Dharamjaygarh) Siddhant Tiwari.
What is the matter
On June 17, 2025, on receiving information about the body of a person lying in the Bhainsamuda field of village Keshla, police station in-charge Lalunga Sub Inspector Igeshwar Yadav reached the spot with his team. The deceased was identified as Bajrang Das Mahant (48 years), who had serious injury marks on his head and body from a sharp weapon. Prima facie, the case appeared to be murder and investigation was started against the unknown accused under Crime No. 170/2025, Section 101(3) BNS. Police action
During the investigation, the police interrogated the heirs of the deceased, the people of the village, in which it was found that the deceased Bajrang Das and Arjun Das Mahant (60 years) had been in a dispute over farm land for the last one year. On the day of the incident, Bajrang Das went to work in the field with a Kanwar, Tangi and a water bottle, where Arjun Das and his son Rajkumar Mahant (27 years)*, who were already lying in wait, seriously injured him with a Tangi and a wooden stick over a land dispute, due to which he died on the spot.
