Haryana. Gurugram Police has found a 16-year-old girl missing since August this year from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh. The girl had fled from her house in anger. Officials gave this information on Monday. He said that the police have arrested a man who allegedly took the girl with him and his son for sexually abusing her.
The accused were arrested on Sunday and then brought to Gurugram. A court here sent the man to judicial custody while his son was sent to police custody. Meanwhile, the girl has been handed over to her family. He said that the girl, a resident of a colony near Khandsa village, left home on August 22. After this, her family members lodged a missing complaint at Sector 10 police station. On December 6, the girl called her mother from an unknown mobile number and told her that she did not know where she was. When her mother approached the police, the number was traced to Kannauj, from where she was traced on Sunday.
Based on the girl’s statement, the police arrested two men – Amar Singh and his son Jaswant, natives of a village near Kannauj, a senior police officer said. The girl claimed that when she reached the bus stand after leaving her house, Amar Singh met her and took her to his village, where he and his son sexually abused her. Based on the girl’s statement, sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act were added to the case, the officer said.
