Himachal : A Nepali man and his son died after being struck by lightning while fishing in Maratu valley near Baga Bridge in Kotai. The deceased have been identified as Gorakh Bahadur (58), son of Bhim Bahadur (32), son of Bal Bahadur Thapa. The entire matter came to light during the interrogation of Devi Thapa, wife of Gorakh Bahadur Thapa, who was present at the spot. Aluminum wire, two plastic pipes, a fishing net and a bag were found at the scene. The police confiscated all the goods. Police examined the bodies and found that Gaurak Bahadur Thapa was bleeding from the nose and had burn marks on his hands and mouth, while Bhim Bahadur had burn marks on his left eye. On interrogating his family members, it was found that Gorek Bahadur Thapa was working as a laborer along with his wife near Pujari village, resident of Leeladar, for the last three months.
Around the same time, Gaurak’s son Bhim Bahadur lived in Garvag village with his wife Dammaya. On 12 February, Bhim Bahadur, his wife Dhammaya and his parents came to the priest village, had dinner and then went fishing with his father in the Maratu valley at about 8 o’clock. At around 10 pm, Devi Thapa called his wife but the phone was switched off. After that his son revealed his name as Bham Bahadur. The phone didn’t even pick up. Later at 6 am on Tuesday, Devi Thapa and her daughter-in-law searched, but both were found dead on the banks of Maratu valley.
