Every farmer with a patta passbook must register in the Farmer Registry, said Assistant Director of Agriculture Mallaiah. He inspected the farmer registration process in Bandarupalli village on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mallaiah advised farmers to contact the relevant agricultural extension officer with their Aadhaar card and mobile number linked to Aadhaar and register in the Farmer Registry.
He said that just as every citizen of the country is identified through Aadhaar, farmers will be allotted an 11-digit unique identification number (Unique Code). He said that this project is being implemented with the support of the Central Government with the aim of completely digitalizing the agricultural sector.
He advised every farmer who owns land to register in the Farmer Registry with all the details related to his land. Mallaiah clarified that this registry will also be mandatory for PM Kisan beneficiaries to get the next installment of funds. Village Sarpanch Kola Venkataswamy, AEO Nagarjuna, farmers and others participated in this program.
