Holashtak will start on the Ashtami of Phalgun Shukla Paksha. This time Holashtak is being observed from Sunday, 17th March.
According to religious beliefs, performing auspicious works is prohibited during the days of Holashtak. During this period, there is a ban on functions like marriage, Upanayana Sanskar, sacred thread, naming ceremony, entry into a new house, havan puja for specific functions etc. But during this period daily puja can be performed.
