Fake visa racket busted, mastermind arrested

New Delhi. A 49-year-old man has been arrested from Kerala for allegedly duping people in the name of sending them abroad on fake visas and passports, a Delhi Police official said on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Mujeeb PP, resident of Malappuram district of Kerala. and a non-bailable warrant was also issued against the accused. The arrest of the mastermind behind the fake visa racket comes two years after the IGI Airport police arrested two agents and a passenger traveling on fake Spain visas in 2019.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) Usha Ranganani said, “A case was registered in 2019 in which it was alleged that Vishal Khulla, Rajasthan, Jodhpur, who had a passport valid till August 29, 2026, was arrested between March 2, 2019 and April 2.” As of 2019, departure immigration clearance to Madrid (Spain) was granted on the basis of a valid Schengen visa.

“Later, during checking of the travel documents of the passenger at the boarding gate, the above mentioned Schengen visa sticker affixed on his passport was found to be fake by the Air India security staff.”
